Selena Gomez already shared the news of her recent kidney transplant, but now the star has spoken out about it in more detail. Selena shares that her life at risk due to the state of her lupus, and that the transplant she received from actress and friend Francia Raísa saved her life.
Selena shared that she didn’t even need to ask for Francia’s support, it was offered.
“Because she did. That’s it. I guess I got to the point where it was really kind of life or death. My kidneys were just done. That was it and I didn’t want to ask a single person in my life. And she volunteered and did it.”
Selena previously posted a photo to Instagram showing the women holding hands in the hospital following their surgeries.
