Last Sunday at the MTV VMA’s Rihanna was not only presented with the show’s Video Vanguard Award, but also a touching speech by Drake who shocked the crowd when he admitted that he’s loved the songstress since he was 22-years-old. Now she used the L-word in response to him as well.
This week she posted a thank you note on Instagram where she thanked everyone involved.
“I have the most incredible people in my life! My family, friends, loved ones, my fans, my team!!! All gifted beautiful spirits! And I’m so grateful that God has precisely and flawlessly arranged our paths to meet at each other!”
Then she went on to thank people individually.
“Thank you to the beautiful @iamnaomicampbell @therealmaryjblige @traceeellisross for your kind words!” she continued. “@champagnepapi your speech was so touching and I love you for that!”
Drake was the one chosen to actually present the award to Rihanna, which was when he mentioned that he loved her and also called her a legend.
“She’s someone I’ve been in love with since I was 22 years old. She’s one of my best friends in the world. All my adult life, I’ve looked up to her, even though she’s younger than me. She’s a living, breathing legend in our industry.”
