Netflix is introducing a downloading feature where subscribers will be able to save content to view offline as well as stream online. The feature is currently available for shows like Orange in the New Black, Narcos, and The Crown, with more soon on the way.
Eddy Wu, the director of product innovation released a blog post about the new service.
“While many members enjoy watching Netflix at home, we’ve often heard they also want to continue their Stranger Things binge while on airplanes and other places where internet is expensive or limited. Just click the download button on the details page for a film or TV series and you can watch it later without an internet connection.”
The feature is available for free in all the current plans, and the downloadable content will be available for phones and tablets on Android and iOS.
