Matthew McConaughey will be returning to his alma mater of the University of Texas at Austin, but this time around he will be a teacher there. This fall Matthew will reportedly be teaching a class on filmmaking called “Advanced Producing: Script to Screen.”

In the course catalogue the official professor is listed as Scott Rice, but Matthew and producer Gary Ross will be the assistant teachers. Matthew and Gary recently collaborated on the Civil War drama Free State of Jones, and the class will center around that film giving a true behind the scenes learning experience.

Matthew however will not be on campus the whole time. He is actually only expected to visit the campus at least once. The rest of the time he will be appearing via recorded videos.

The course description describes the class as follows:

“By studying the movie’s source material, script, shot lists, storyboards, shooting schedule, VFX, final cut and even exclusive behind-the-scenes footage, students will garner insight into the production of a major Hollywood feature.”

Matthew himself graduated from the school in 1993, with a bachelor’s degree in radio-television-film. The school posted an official announcement about his teaching return on their social media this week.
