Julia Louis-Dreyfus Reveals Breast Cancer Diagnosis

Julia Louis-Dreyfus has revealed a breast cancer diagnosis. The Veep star not only shared the news via her Twitter account but used the moment to draw attention to the importance of health care.

“1 in 8 women get breast cancer. Today, I’m the one. The good news is that I have the most glorious group of supportive and caring family and friends, and fantastic insurance through my union. The bad news is that not all women are so lucky, so let’s fight all cancers and make universal health care a reality.”

Julia received the cancer diagnosis in September, just one day after the Emmy Awards where she walked away with a best actress win. Stars have been pouring out their support following the news.

HBO released a statement about Julia’s diagnosis and the end of Veep, which will be wrapping up its final season in 2018.

“Our love and support go out to Julia and her family at this time. We have every confidence she will get through this with her usual tenacity and undaunted spirit, and look forward to her return to health and to HBO for the final season of Veep.”
