Yesterday, Deadline reported that Jordan Peele’s The Hunt finally found a home with Amazon Studios. The Nazi-hunting drama received a 10-episode straight-to-series order from Amazon. This is the first new scripted series Amazon has ordered since Jennifer Salke became the head of the studio.
“Our biggest priority is attracting exceptional writing and producing talent to bring addictive, groundbreaking projects to Prime Video,” said Salke. “The Hunt is edge-of-your seat entertainment that is not only culturally relevant but deliciously original. David Weil, Jordan Peele, and the entire Monkeypaw and Sonar Entertainment teams represent the dream team! We can’t wait to get started!”
Loosely based on real-life events, The Hunt follows a group of Nazi hunters living 1977 New York City. Upon discovering that hundreds of high-ranking Nazi officials are living ordinary lives in the United States, the Hunters embark on a journey to deliver justice and put the kibosh on any future genocidal schemes of the growing Fourth Reich.
“When David Weil first shared The Hunt with me, I immediately knew that we had to be involved,” Peele commented. “It’s cathartic. It’s noir. It’s frighteningly relevant. It’s exactly what I want to see on television. I am thrilled to be working with Amazon in bringing this incredible vision to the world.”
Last fall, Sonar Entertainment took the project public to find a studio to produce the dramatic series. Originally, Sonar was in talks with another network, but ultimately, Amazon won out.

At this time, a premiere date for The Hunt has not been scheduled.
