Jennifer Lawrence TOTALLY Washes her Hands, People

It’s impossible not to love Jennifer Lawrence, right? After all, in spite of the fact that she’s inarguably the most popular actress in Hollywood today, she still manages to maintain the spunky charm America fell in love with after her breakout role in 2010’s Winter’s Bone. No matter how many Oscars she’s nominated for, no matter how many movies she opens at number one, it seems the 25 year old simply refuses to be anything but herself.

Of course, that goofy, uninhibited personality can be a double edged sword, as J. Law learned the hard way earlier this month when — in a game of on-camera truth or dare — she “admitted” to Hunger Games costars Josh Hutcherson and Liam Hemsworth that she didn’t wash her hands after going to the bathroom. At the time, it seemed like an obvious ploy to get her male costars to squirm (which she accomplished), but the off-hand comment was soon drawing the critique of people across the globe.

This morning, Lawrence shot back, posting a 15 second video to her Facebook page that finally put to rest the silly rumors. The video was posted alongside a caption which read (in part): “I hate talking to the Internet but I can’t get asked another question about my hygiene on this press tour … Of course I wash my hands after going to the bathroom! (I can’t believe I’ve put myself in a situation where I even have to say that.)”

Obviously Jennifer Lawrence washes her hands. She’s a modern human. Jennifer Lawrence may be silly, but she’s not unsanitary. While it’s hard to call the aftermath of her comment a true “backlash” (who can’t love J. Law, no matter how gross she might be?), the star’s video response is witty and inspired.

It’s exactly what we’d expect from her.
