Dry shampoo is sort of a life changer. It allows for extending a hairdo without having to go through the lengthy process of washing and styling again. Some are better than others, but following the advice of celebrity stylists is one great way to pinpoint the best options.
Stylist Christine Symonds has worked with stars like Kaley Cuoco, Rashida Jones, Scarlett Johansson, and Anna Faris. She suggests a brand called Batiste which can be found at the drugstore for only $8.
“Batiste Dry Shampoo is made with rice starch instead of corn starch so it has the dryest, most oil absorbing application I’ve found. It also comes in different scents to match your personality. They also make tinted dry shampoo to mask grown out roots and unwanted greys. I use it in my clients’ roots after a fresh clean blowout to give body and texture. It helps soak up any oils that will accumulate to make their blowout last even longer. I also love applying dry shampoo on a finished braid before I gently pull at the sides of the braid to loosen it up. The dry shampoo gives the braid texture and hold. I also use it in almost all of my updos. I spray dry shampoo in the roots to give the style body and texture and it gives the bobby pins something to grip to.”
