Celebrity stylist Micaela Erlanger has worked with celebrities like Lupita Nyong’o, Jennifer Hudson, and Michelle Dockery. Recently she opened up about her thoughts in wedding dresses and mentioned that there’s a universally flattering style.
“I think an A-line is always going to be universally flattering. If you’re super petite, it’s going to be nipped at the waist and give you curves. If you are fuller figured, it’s going to nip you at the waist and hide anything that maybe you’re self-conscious about. So I think that’s the way to go.”
Of course any bride will still probably have to spend lots of time trying on dresses to find the perfect fit, but at least that’s a good place to start. Micaela also offered some budget bride tips, like wearing heels so that you don’t have to hem a dress and cutting a hole in a sheet for the bride to step in and collect her dress in so that it doesn’t drag on the way to the ceremony.
