Rap superstar Cardi B gave birth to her first child with husband Offset, on Tuesday. Cardi welcomed a daughter named Kulture Kiari Cephus and she shared the news on Instagram by posting a photo of her baby bump.
Cardi managed to keep her pregnancy a secret until a show in April. She shared the news when she performed on Saturday Night Live. When the 25-year-old finished her performance she exclaimed: “I’m finally free!”
After sharing the news of the pregnancy, Cardi had to cancel a few performances due to the nature of her growing baby. In her own words:
“Shorty keep growing and I be looking like I be moving and everything, but in reality, a bitch barely can breathe.”
Another secret that Cardi managed to keep under wraps was that she had already married rapper Offset way back in September of 2017. She explained her reasoning for keeping the marriage a secret:
“There are so many moments that I share with the world and then there are moments that I want to keep for myself! Getting married was one of those moments! Our relationship was so new breaking up and making up and we had a lot of growing up to do but we was so in love we didn’t want to lose each other. Was one morning in September we woke up and decided to get married. We found someone to marry us, and she did, just the two of us and my cousin. I said I do, with no dress, no makeup and no ring!”
Offset publicly proposed to Cardi B in October during a concert in Philadelphia.
Despite the fact that Cardi had to take some time off from performing during her pregnancy, she did decide to keep working. She shifted her focus toward her fashion partnership with clothing line Fashion Nova. Cardi B recently became the first female rapper to ever have two Billboard Hot 100 number one songs.
