Cardi B has officially dropped out of her upcoming tour with Bruno Mars after recently giving birth. The rapper explained that she’s not quite ready to leave her daughter and that she doesn’t think she’ll be ready come September when the 24k Magic tour is set to begin.
“As of today I’ve decided I won’t be joining Bruno on tour this Fall. I thought that after giving birth to my daughter that 6 weeks would be enough time for me to recover mentally and physically. I also thought that I’d be able to bring her with me on tour, but I think I underestimated this whole mommy thing.”
She posted an explanation to her Instagram account this week.
Cardi also thanked Mars for “being so supportive and understanding.”
Mars posted his own return message on Instagram, showing that he is in fact quite understanding about the sudden change.
In addition to having a newborn baby at home, Cardi B’s husband and the father of her child was recently arrested and could be facing jail time. Offset, a member of Migos, was arrested after being pulled over and having both drugs and guns in his car. He is currently facing felony gun charges. Following the arrest, a tour that Migos and Drake have planned was pushed back and will be starting later than anticipated.
Offset and Cardi B secretly married last year before announcing that they were expecting their first child. The two went on their first date during Super Bowl LI.
“I told my publicist to tell him, because I was very shy, ‘Listen, if we gonna go on a public date together, you cannot make me look like a dumbass after this.’”
Offset ended up popping the question on stage during a concert in 2017, at which point the two were already secretly married.
