In Caitlyn Jenner’s most recent interview she shares that ex wife Kris did not want her to dress up as a woman around their home before she transitioned.
“The rules, kind of, for Kris and I [were] don’t dress up, certainly around the house. If you really feel the need to do that, when you’re on the road take stuff and do that.”
She added that dressing up on the road went on for years.
“I’d go on the road for speaking engagements, take a bunch of stuff, dress up at the hotel, walk around, do whatever I wanted to do, just to feel a little bit better about myself. And I kind of dealt with it that way.”
Caitlyn shared that at the beginning of their relationship she and Kris dressed up a few times together but then Kris wasn’t comfortable with it so they stopped.
“I respected that and kind of kept it away but it was always there. A lot of times too when you have somebody in your life that’s diminishing that, you can deal with that but it gets tougher and tougher and tougher with time.”
Caitlyn and Kris have had their challenges since their split, and at one point Kris was hurt by the way she felt like Caitlyn portrayed their marriage in her big Vanity Fair reveal interview after transitioning. However, the two seem to be doing great as friends now.
In March Kris said to Ellen DeGeneres:
“I think that I really want her to be happy and be really comfortable in all the things where she says she wasn’t her true authentic self for most of her life. [She] knew when she was 4 that she felt like that. So you don’t want somebody to be miserable or in pain or anything of that.”
