3. Steve McQueen Was Originally Considered to Play Paul Varjak
The film’s director, Blake Edwards, wanted Steve McQueen to play the role of Paul, but Steve was committed to another project at the time, the show Wanted: Dead or Alive. Ultimately the role went to George Peppard.
