6. Oscar de la Renta (July 22, 1932 – October 20, 2014)
Dominican American fashion designer, Oscar de la Renta, who was trained by Cristóbal Balenciaga and Antonio del Castillo, became internationally known in the 60s because he regularly dressed Jacqueline Kennedy. de la Renta worked for fashion moguls Lanvin and Balmain throughout his career. The designer, who passed away in October at home, had been battling cancer since 2006.
