Downey says that he was surrounded by drugs as a child and he and his father would even partake in drug-related activities together. He admitted to trying marijuana as early as 6 and began drinking as early as 8. Downey says he battled with substance abuse for over 30 years. Thanks to his wife and strict rehabilitation regiments, the actor has been drug-free since 2003.
