Marwan Kenzari has been cast as Jafar in the upcoming live action film production of Aladdin. Disney has not confirmed the news, but sources say that the 34-year-old actor is currently involved in negotiations.
Marwan joins Mena Massoud as Aladdin, Naomi Scott as Princess Jasmine, Will Smith as the Genie, and Nasim Pedrad as the handmaid. The film is being directed by Guy Ritchie, produced by Dan Lin, and written by John August. It took the production quite some time to settle on the proper actors for the project.
Disney has a few different live action projects in the works, including Dumbo, Mulan, and The Lion King.
