Snoop Dogg’s son Cornell Broadus recently debuted his first fashion line at a MADE L.A. event at L.A. Live. He said the hardest part about the whole thing was “convincing my dad.”
“My dad doesn’t treat me like his son when we’re doing business. He’s an actual client so I had to approach him as a client.”
The Snoop x Joyrich collection was designed in collaboration with Joyrich designer Tom Hirota. It was all inspired by Snoop Dogg’s personal style and included items such as plaid pajama pants, faux fur bathrobes, athletic jerseys, and shorts, print bikinis, and bandana tops.
Cornell recently gave up playing football at UCLA to focus on fashion and film.
“A lot of my friends are into more masculine things…when you’re playing football, you really can’t show that side. We all have that side, being creative…I kept that to myself for a while. When I met Tom, he helped me build my confidence and we came up with this collection…I met him through a friend at a party and I loved his clothes.”
