Eric Marlon Bishop, professionally known as Grammy award winning singer and Oscar winning actor, Jamie Foxx, was born in Terrell, Texas. Foxx was the child of Darrell Bishop and Louise Annette Talley Dixon, who were both unemployed at the time of his birth. The actor was sent to live with his grandparents shortly after being born. Foxx did not have much contact with his birth parents growing up. He was legally adopted by his grandparents when he was 7 months old.
