George Foreman Joins the Cast of New NBC Reality Show

George Foreman retired from his boxing career back in 1997 after 30 years, and then became a business icon when he created the George Foreman grill. Now the heavyweight champion has joined the cast of the NBC reality show entitled Better Late than Never.

The show will take George, Henry Winkler, William Shatner, Terry Bradshaw, and Jeff Dye on a month long trip through Asia, including the cities Tokyo, Kyoto, Seoul, Hong Kong, Phuket, and Chiang Mai. The men will be required to deal with any language and cultural barriers as they go along…without any assistants or itineraries along with them.

Initially George was hesitant to do the show, but Henry Winkler who is producing as well as starring convinced him otherwise.

“He called and told me about his idea for the show, which was unreal because I didn’t want to do a reality show. But the more he and I talked, the more I learned about how good this show would be, especially with the other guys who were going to be on it. I wanted in!”

It sounds like things went well, and has some good messaged attached as well.

“The show is really about five guys doing somethings that we all have never done, in a place far from home. We rely on each other for support and encouragement to make it work. The real point of the show is…don’t wait to live. It doesn’t matter how old you are…don’t wait to live. Do what you really want to do in your life – now!”

The one hour series will premiere Tuesday, August 23 at 10 PM EST on NBC.
